The Coffs community came out on Thursday 13 August to congratulate Commbank for ending its support for Adani's Carmichael coal mine in the Galilee Basin. Member and supporters of Coffs Coast Climate Action Group gathered at the Growers Markets, where many people signed a 'Thank you' card to Commbank, urging the bank to take the next step and end its involvement with all fossil fuel projects. The card and flowers were delivered to the manager of Coffs Harbour Commbank branch.
We also visited the Coffs branches of NAB, ANZ and Westpac, delivering a letter asking them to follow Commbank's lead by publicly ruling out involvement in Galilee coal and move away from all coal, oil and gas projects.
We want a safe climate and that means investing in clean, renewable energy. Communities around Australia will keep taking action until all the Big 4 Banks show the leadership required to protect the climate and support a clean economy.

This was part of nationwide actions, co-ordinated by 350.org Australia. For national highlights, see here.
A new community vision for Commbank was launched at mycommunitybank.org.au - check it out and use the tool to let Commbank's CEO know you expect the bank to move from coal to clean energy.
Thank you to everyone who joined in on this action! We are on the road to winning the battle against Galilee Coal, but we won't stop until it's truly gone and we're on track to securing a safe climate future.
